Job Summary
GateWay Community College is now hiring a great new role! This
position supports the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation's
bioscience incubator lab services ensuring that tenant companies
have state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to support their
start-up companies. This position implements and monitors necessary
program processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient
operations of the bioscience incubator labs. This position serves
as the primary point of contact for tenants, facility owners, and
property management teams. The Program Coordinator will interact
with instructors, students, vendors and course developers to ensure
that training programs, both in-person and online, are supported
with all necessary training resources, facilities, and materials to
achieve program outcomes.
Essential Functions
40% - Responsible for laboratory management supporting multiple
bioscience start-up companies in shared-use environment. Primary
tasks include: tenant onboarding and training, performance of
scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment,
monitoring labs for compliance with safety and OSHA requirements,
securing vendors for needed lab services and managing contracts and
renewals, developing and maintaining an operating budget for lab
operations.
30% - Supports course development (online and f2f) by serving as a
laboratory practices subject matter expert on a course development
team, ensures alignment of courses to recognized certification
programs, coordinates the delivery of training events, including
planning for and organizing learner enrollments, instructor
requirements, facility readiness, AV technology support and
customer service interface. Responds to customer inquiries for
facility use, including the preparation of cost proposals.
20% - Provides training and supervision of part-time laboratory
technicians and customer service support personnel. Manages team's
work schedules to ensure compliance with staffing coverage
commitments. Serves as primary point of contact for tenants,
facility owners, and property management teams.
10% - Develops, implements and monitors necessary program processes
and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations of the
bioscience incubator labs. Monitors and ensures compliance with all
District policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in
education, business or public administration, or biology,
bioscience, STEM education, and one (1) year of experience in
researching information, gathering data, performing preliminary
analysis and preparing reports.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly
related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to
successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those
listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements
set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A. Experience managing a STEM or bioscience laboratory with
responsibilities that include preventative maintenance of
equipment, including required documentation for lab certifications.
Understanding and ability to implement process and procedures that
ensure lab practices and SOPs meet all required safety, OSHA, and
FDA compliance regulations.
B. Experience coordinating the logistics and delivery of education
and industry training programs that includes supporting instructor
needs, managing course enrollments, ensuring readiness of
classrooms, labs, and AV equipment, responding to learner needs,
coordinating food service vendors and maintaining impact
documentation including participant data, completion rates,
demographics and certifications awarded.
C. Experience with laboratory and facility management duties that
include coordination of maintenance providers, troubleshooting
facility issues and escalating problems to appropriate support
personnel, communicating to affected parties, and maintain
standards for cleanliness and readiness of the facility.
Maintaining equipment service documentation.
D. Experience as a Subject Matter Expert in laboratory practices
supporting course development with learning objectives, lab
exercises, assessments and other instructional design
components.
