advantage.Reporting RelationshipsThe Executive Director, Tenet
Physician Resources (ED-TPR) reports directly to the Senior
Director/CEO, Tenet Physician Resources in the respective market.
The ED has responsibility for coordinating with the local market
unit and TPR leadership the strategy for the TPR service
line/business unit, including developing a physician manpower
strategy within their assigned market(s). The ED serves as a
liaison and point of contact in initiating, managing, and
finalizing physician employment transactions. This role requires
heavy and regular interaction with the TPR market operations
leadership and as needed with TPR leadership based in the Dallas
home office.The ED oversees all market operations for physician
employed practices in given TPR service line/business unit and will
conduct daily interactions in a way that demonstrates a positive
organizational attitude and effectiveness, and models the
organization's Mission, Vision and Values. The ED will manage the
Associate Directors of Practice Operations and will oversee the
activities in those market practices including physician human
resources requirements, customer service, customer satisfaction,
financial analysis, Meaningful Use attestations, business
information systems, practice profile analysis and compliance with
regulatory bodies. The ED manages physician practices to budgeted
expectations; ensure practices are operating within Tenet
compliance regulations; and ensure all physicians and leaders
understand business aspects of their practice. Manages individual
physician relationships maintaining balance between meeting
pro-forma expectations and keeping the physician positive. Works
with physician leadership to identify new lines of business,
additional streams of revenue, and new methods to mitigate costs.
Ensures regulatory compliance with agencies such as OSHA, CLIA, DHS
and others as appropriate.ESSESENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILTIES:Practice Operations: Managing the daily operations
of the service line
- Assisting with budget development and analysis, and evaluating
direct profit and loss
- Oversees all operations aspects of the practice
- Physician production and quality
- Revenue Cycle
- Compliance
- Licensure (imaging and outpatient services)
- Quality and Safety Initiatives
- Successfully opening practice locations
- Staff recruitment and engagement
- Developing, recommending and submission of capital planService
line Growth: Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve
organizational goals
- Point person for strategy for outpatient services
- Overall physician recruitment and retainment
- Responsibility for certain aspects of physician employment,
including development of annual employment plans
- APP recruitment
- Transaction assessment and management; coordination and
presentation of projected practice financial analyses
- Support acquisitions including coordination of due diligence
gathering.
- Pay for performance initiatives
- Identifying and recommending addition practice location (Show
Low, Surprise, etc.) Expansion into new service lines: i.e.
Vascular
- Collaborate with UPSPI on development of outpatient Cath
labs
- Collaboration and liaison to the Hospital A Team
- Presentation and review of key documents with physicians,
management/maintenance of physician employment transaction
"pipeline"
- Ongoing review of market dynamics in the physician sector,
overall market trends and market share changes, and competitive
intelligenceQUALIFICATIONS:Required:
- Strong leadership skills and understanding of group processes,
teamwork, and site/cost center based management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
at all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated skill using MS Office products including Excel,
Word, Power Point and OutlookEducation/Certifications
- An undergraduate degree is required and a graduate degree,
ideally in health management is desirable.Required Background
Experience
- Five years' healthcare management level experience in physician
practice management, development, acquisitions, recruitment, or
related executive area.
- Knowledge of healthcare organization and administration and of
standards and laws applicable to managing issues with physician
practices.
- Knowledge of health care, strategic and financial planning.
Proven financial management skills, capable of reaching closure and
timely accomplishment of objectives with a focus on P & L.
- Knowledge of principles of interactive planning, participatory
management and influence management.
- Skilled at executing strategy and problem solving; asks the
right questions, follows up and determines the facts, setting
priorities based on business opportunity. Skilled at spotting
trends and developments. Able to direct the development of practice
forecasts and proformas.
- Ability to build targeted sales and marketing lists, research
in-depth business profiles on prospects, analyze market research
and identify new opportunities and prospects for practice
growth.Professional Attributes
