Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities
What We're Looking For:If you are a Network Administrator who
enjoys tackling a variety of challenges and opportunity to work
with a range of technologies, we have an opportunity for you to
join our team as a SolarWinds Administrator! As a key member of our
IT team, you'll need a diverse set of IT skills, advanced
troubleshooting abilities, and a strong work ethic. No two days
will be the same as you tackle various challenges in this role. Our
SolarWinds Administrator will perform a variety of functions with a
wide range of technologies, including SolarWinds platform
administration, network performance tuning, alert management, and
integration with other IT infrastructure tools, all while following
network monitoring best practices. If this sounds like the

Do:
- Create and maintain diagrams and documentation of the SolarWinds environment, including integrations with network, systems, and storage elements.
- Install, configure, and manage SolarWinds modules, including Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Server & Application Monitor (SAM), NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA), Hybrid Cloud Observability (HCO) and other relevant tools.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network and system performance issues using SolarWinds tools to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
- Provide advanced support for SolarWinds, including system updates, module configuration, and custom report generation to meet organizational needs.
- Utilize your knowledge and skills to analyze complex performance data, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and manage alerts, dashboards, and automation within the SolarWinds platform to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SolarWinds with other infrastructure and monitoring tools.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for SolarWinds-related issues, including vendor escalation as needed.
- Design, deploy and maintain the SolarWinds infrastructure for monitoring network devices, servers, applications, and databases.
- Configure and fine-tune SolarWinds modules to ensure
comprehensive monitoring and reporting.
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO
What You'll Need to Succeed:- Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field, or 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 2+ years of experience with the SolarWinds platform administration and implementation in a corporate or data center environment
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting IT infrastructure using monitoring tools. Examples of relevant experience include working with any of the following: SolarWinds NPM, SAM, NTA, Network Configuration Manager (NCM), or other enterprise-level monitoring tools.
- Proficiency in creating custom alerts, dashboards, and reports within SolarWinds.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, SNMP, and NetFlow.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize network and system performance using SolarWinds tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others.
- Confidence and the ability to build meaningful relationships with your manager and team members.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, identify and correct mistakes, and ask for help when needed.
- Proactive in seeking ways to improve knowledge and skills, and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge with others.
- Expertise is SolarWinds modules such as HCO, NPM, SAM, NTA, and IPAM.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Things
That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
- Experience working in a data center environment.
- SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) certification or other relevant certifications.
- Familiarity with Cisco network environments and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience integrating SolarWinds with ITSM platforms or other monitoring tools.
- Any additional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco
CCNA, or equivalent).We'll also need you to:
