Then you should consider this innovative and disruptive opportunity where you can be a key transformative contributor to a world-class engineering team building and maintaining the DBaaS platform for American Express.The goal of the team is to build upon a robust platform in support of hosting databases both in the private cloud environment as well as multiple public clouds.Responsibilities:--- Owns technical aspects of software development, focused on On-prem and Public Cloud Database Platform development and Support--- Performs hands-on architecture, design and development of systems--- Ability to understand systems architectures to quickly identify potential problems--- Assists in implementing solutions for database platform enablement--- Provides production support on rotation basis--- Sees opportunities to adopt innovative technologiesThere are hundreds of opportunities to make your mark on technology and life at American Express. Here's just some of what you'll be doing:--- Use cutting-edge technologies to implement a cloud database platform.--- Understand the current implementation of the database platform and look for improvements to the platform and dependencies.--- Work with Product Owners to understand upcoming features and ensure proper design.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience8+ years of database administration experience preferably in PostgreSQL, Couchbase, Mongo and Cassandra4+ years of development experience in programming in Python, Terraform.Experienced in system configuration using Ansible5+ years of Linux Administration Experience.Hands on experience deploying various Public cloud services related to Network, Security, Compute and Database servicesExperience in coding terraform modules with various providersExperience with Container and Orchestration Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift is a plus.Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutionsWillingness to learn new technologies and use them to their optimal potentialProvide Oncall support on rotation basisAt the core of Software Engineering, every member of our team should be able to demonstrate the following technical, functional, leadership and business skills you'll use every day, including:Agile PracticesProgramming Languages and FrameworksBusiness AnalysisAnalytical ThinkingBusiness Product KnowledgeSalary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
