Director of Strategic Talent ManagementDepartmentFlorida State
University will soon embark on its next comprehensive campaign. As
the silent phase of the campaign begins, the Division of University
Advancement is accelerating the hiring of additional Advancement
Services professionals campus-wide and is excited to build out its
team. For Advancement professionals who are interested in being a

team.Responsibilities
- The Director of Strategic Talent Management will play a
critical role in building a comprehensive talent management program
for the Division of University Advancement. As a senior leader on
the division's Advancement Services team, the Director supports
organizational development and long-term workforce planning,
fosters a collaborative and high-performance team culture, and
supports employee development and wellbeing.
- The Director of Strategic Talent Management oversees a small
team of operations and Divisional Human Resources professionals and
will provide direction on best practices in employee recruitment
and retention, learning and development, performance management,
and succession planning.Workforce Planning, Recruitment and
Retention
- Work with the division's executive leadership to develop
long-term staffing plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop a high-impact talent acquisition practice to source,
cultivate, and recruit a strong talent pipeline.
- In partnership with University Advancement leaders and
University Human Resources, advise on restructuring plans or other
strategic initiatives including succession planning, the creation
of new positions or reclassification of existing roles, and
compensation reviews.Learning and Development
- In close collaboration with University Advancement leadership,
central HR Recruiting, and operational partners, design a
comprehensive onboarding program that fully orients new employees
to the division.
- Source or design specific programs and resources for managers
and supervisors to develop leadership capacity across the
division.
- Source and promote other select learning and development
opportunities and programs for University Advancement team
members.
- Serve as a core planning partner for division-wide staff
meetings and retreats to maximize these opportunities for learning
and development.
- Serve as an advisor and thought partner to University
Advancement leaders on smaller-scale team retreats and professional
development initiatives.Performance Management
- In alignment with University Advancement core values and
organizational goals, and university policy, provide coaching and
direction to supervisors in performance management, including
employee development plans.
- Coordinate the division's annual and mid-year performance
review cycles in accordance with university policies and
procedures.Employee Engagement and Retention
- Oversee employee retention strategies including career pathways
planning and employee engagement activities.
- Design and administer employee surveys to identify areas for
improvement to assist division leadership in strategic planning for
employee engagement and retention.
- Oversee a comprehensive employee off-boarding program including
exit interviews.Talent Management Operations
- Prepare metrics, collect and interpret data on employee
retention, leadership, professional development, succession
planning, training, and performance management efforts to evaluate
the effectiveness of efforts and identify trends.
- In close partnership with the finance team, support annual and
long-range budget planning for personnel and talent management
operations.QualificationsBachelor's degree and six years of
experience related to administrative services; or a high school
diploma/equivalent and experience in the same equal to ten years.
(Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at
the equivalent rate.)Valid FL or GA driver's license or the ability
