Job Title:Product ControllerLocation:CityScapeWhat you'll do:The
Product Controller will report directly to the Financial Reporting
Director and will be primarily responsible for overseeing all
aspects of the accounting and reporting for the Company's loan and
deposit portfolios. The Product Controller is expected to have
robust subject matter expertise and the ability to lead and manage
functional areas without day-to-day tactical oversight. This
position works closely with other Financial Reporting Directors,
Managers, and the Operations teams.
- Monitor and oversee the accounting and reporting for the
Company's loan and deposit portfolios.
- Remain current on recent rules, interpretations, and industry
practices as it relates to the accounting and reporting of loans
and deposits.
- Assess the impact of any changes on the Company and communicate
with the relevant parties to ensure changes are correctly
implemented.
- Support growth initiatives, including but not limited to: new
business lines, product extensions and M&A, ensuring business
initiatives are supported regarding both launch dates and necessary
consideration of changes to systems, internal controls, policies,
and procedures.
- Direct new product implementations or other initiatives
requiring upgrades and/or enhancements to loan and deposit
enterprise systems.
- Oversee and ensure the maintenance of documentation specific to
loan and deposit system and product information.
- Actively develop relationships across functional areas to
ensure cross departmental collaboration.
- Assist with external financial audits, regulatory examinations,
and similar activities.
- Perform various accounting duties including review of journal
entries, accruals, transaction analysis, accounting research and ad
hoc projects.
- Provide ad hoc reports customized to the needs of the Chief
Accounting Officer or other members of executive management.What
you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience.
- Public accounting experience with a Big 4 (or top tier) audit
firm and/or progressively increased responsibility and supervisory
experience at an SEC registrant, preferably in the financial
services industry.
- CPA license is required.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and
ERP.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to
influence others and to build collaborative internal team
environments.
- Demonstrated track record building teams, career growth plans,
and organizational strength through leadership, partnership, and a
high level of integrity.
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional team building and the
ability to partner with other operations and strategy functions to
achieve challenging objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and manage multiple commitments
and deadlines in a demanding, fast paced, hands-on environment with
